Saco, Maine

Saco is situated beside Saco Bay on the Gulf of Maine. It borders the cities ofOld Orchard Beach, Scarborough, Buxton and Dayton and has Saco River bordering the town on the south side, and meets the ocean at Ferry Beach.

 

With picturesque beaches, and parks, Saco is more crowded in summer than in any other seasons. You can enjoy ocean kayaking and sailing on Saco Bay. In winter, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on the Saco Bay Trail is popular. The young and young at heart will love the amusement parks Funtown & Splashtown USA. For a relaxing evening with a bit of nostalgia, catch a movie at the Saco Drive-In Theater established in 1939 and is one of the only drive-in movie theaters still in existence in the US today.
